Jim Yellig Park - Ashburn Road
Hours of Operation (All Times Central): Sunrise to Sunset

Jim Yellig Park is located adjacent to the Holiday Village Community on Ashburn Road, which can be accessed from IN-162 and Louis J Koch Boulevard. The park provides three ball diamonds, four multi-use fields, playground, basketball court, sand volleyball court, and two shelter houses for visitors to enjoy. We also provide field space for North Spencer Little League, North Spencer Softball, North Spencer Soccer Association, and Minutemen Football for their youth sports leagues. Additionally a one mile trail, Ray Yellig Memorial Trail, is in the park, consisting of a loop on the north and south sides of Ashburn Road.

Trails of Santa Claus

The Trails of Santa Claus consist of approximately 5.75 miles of trail loops throughout the Town of Santa Claus from Kaspar Drive/IN-162 in the west to Old State Route 162/Ashburn Road in the east. The trail loops through Jim Yellig Park, follows Ashburn Road to Louis J Koch Boulevard past the Town Hall/Police Department, which connects it back to downtown Santa Claus and Patricia Koch Drive, where the Santa Claus Volunteer Fire Department and Santa Claus Community Center are located. The majority of the Trails are hard surface (pavement or concrete), though approximately 0.25 miles of gravel trails still exist. Trail plans for the near future include the connection of the Eastside and Ray Yellig Memorial Trails. The Town is currently pursuing funding for the second phase of its Lincoln Discovery Trail which will expand the trail from Kaspar Drive to Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial in nearby Lincoln City.
