On
March 13, 2009 the Indiana Economic Development Corporation certified
the Santa Claus Industrial Park as a “Shovel Ready” site for
industrial development.
The Town of
Santa Claus Industrial Park was first
developed in the 1970s, at which time one manufacturing facility was
constructed in the park.
That facility, now a subsidiary of Kimball International, continues
to expand, and has been recently joined by one warehousing facility
and one Toyota supplier, Curtis
Maruyasu America.
The Town owns the entire undeveloped portion of
the Industrial Park, excepting one small tract which also is
available for sale. The
Town has been and remains committed to developing the park, and will
sell any and all tracts or parts of tracts.
Because the Park has been declared an Economic Development
Area, we have in the past and will dispense with the normally
required competitive bidding process required to sell municipal
property in favor of an appraisal-sale of property under I.C.
36-1-11 in the most expedited manner possible to industries needing
to locate here.
Water and wastewater service in the Park is
supplied by the Town of
Santa Claus.
Water is supplied by 8 and 12 inch water mains with current
water supply capabilities of approximately 1.3 MGD.
Fire hydrants are in place, spaced according to Ten State
Standards. Wastewater
collection service is carried out utilizing 8” VCP pipe.
Design capacity of the Wastewater Treatment Plant is 1.17
MGD, with current flows at .3 MGD.
Vectren has a 3-phase, 12.5 Kv transmission line
with a substation approximately 1 mile from the Park.
Vectren may have ED Rider available for those wishing to
locate in the Industrial Park.
This would discount the cost of power for a two year period.
Community Natural Gas has a distribution
station located at County Road 475 E and State Road 162 that
provides service for the towns of Santa Claus,
Lincoln
City and Gentryville.
This is a 2” high pressure line maintaining an operating
capacity 200 psig. The
line connects into the Town Border Station located at 600 E (Kaspar
Drive).
From this border station there is a 6” line maintaining an
operating capacity of 50 psig.
PSC serves the Industrial Park with Digital
Subscriber Line (DSL), which is a high-speed data service that is
provided over an analog telephone line.
They can provide DSL speeds at a rate of 1.5 Mbps, but on an
individual case basis higher speeds may be available.
PSC has a completely redundant 10Gb Fiber Core through
northern Spencer, Perry, and Dubois counties.
Through Fiber-To-The-Premise (FTTP) technology, they offer
speeds up to lGbps to customer through native Ethernet connectivity.
They can also supply traditional analog telephone service and
tariff digital services.
Hoosier Southern Railroad currently accesses
the Industrial Park with a 1.2 mile spur by which they are providing
service to one customer.
They are in a position of provide service to additional customers.
They have access and control of the Ohio River port in Tell City.
The port is approximately 18 miles from the beginning of the
Industrial Park spur.
They interchange with Norfolk
Southern in
Lincoln City, slightly over two miles from the
junction of the spur.
